HABITAT RESTORATION

Some of our restoration efforts include:

• Creation of turtle beaches and wetland habitat

• Adding logs in wetland habitat for basking turtles, toads, and birds

• Placing nest boxes to enhance habitat for birds, insects, and mammals

• Building fences to minimize the chance of road mortalities for the Western Toad and other species

• Limiting access to important nesting and shelter habitat

• Planting native plants to increase shoreline integrity and reduce the growth of non-native species

• Helping the community increase habitat quality in their backyards to promote local wildlife (ponds, flower beds, etc.)
